Eat Real

Look here to find recipes to help you celebrate

                          the joy of food!

The dedication of my work is split three ways:

- to my Mom,  who taught me that the way food looks is as important as

its taste,

- to my Dad, who showed me that time spent in the kitchen can be a lot

of fun,

- to my Husband, who never fails to inspire me and is always eager to

try the results of my culinary experiments.

Dear Friends,

hello and welcome to everybody who likes authentic foods, is eager to discover new tastes and who has been asking for a copy of my recipes for months (oh, well, I know I'm not the most organized person in the world).  Since I came to the United States I've been introduced to so many wonderful dishes and now I feel it's my turn to share. The more so as nowadays Internet is filled with absolutely horrible recipes that, for some unknown reason, are called "Russian".

I've been blessed with an opportunity to travel other countries and to try dishes of various national cuisines, many of them becoming my favorites, and I am excited to share those recipes with you! I'll also include some of  my own recipes. However, most of the recipes I'll be posting on this website are of the dishes that are popular in Russia (you'll find many recipes that came from former USSR republics). Some are very traditional, some were borrowed from our neighbors in Eastern and Western Europe long time ago and adopted to Russian taste, some had been invented and became popular only recently, but all together they'll give you a chance to enjoy "the taste of Russia " without traveling across the ocean.

I'll try to accompany each recipe with a picture of the dish, the story of its origin and, if it contains any uncommon ingredients, the place you can buy them or what you can substitute them with.

For those who would like to try something different but are not particularly excited about spending a few hours in the kitchen, there are hundreds of restaurants and stores all over the States that offer Russian and other European foods! Go to  Stores  and  Restaurants to find the addresses of some of them.

Bon appétit!

Yours,

Olga
